"Q – What have you learned from your on-job-training experience with SRMG?

A – A lot of safety; how to do a thorough pre and post inspections, and how to be safe in the machines.  I can operate better and I am learning a lot of skills on the Waterpull, both 988G and 988K loaders, and had the opportunity to feed the crusher for a couple of weeks.

Q- What do you like about the work that you do?

A – I like the job and the good people I work with.  It makes it a better workplace when the people are very helpful.  I can ask questions and they make me feel comfortable.

Q – What do you look forward to after your complete your program?

A – Hopefully to be hired on and pursue this trade career that I enjoy."
Joe, Heavy Equipment Apprentice, July 2018
"Hello, my name is Lori and I am an apprentice with the SRPMIC Employment & Training Program. In July of 2016, they created a new class in Accounting and I started my on-the-job training at SRMG on October 31, 2016.
It has now been a year since I was placed within the SRMG Finance department. I have been doing my training in the Accounts Payable department, which has given me great experience during my first year. I have been able to train in verifying and processing invoices on a daily and weekly basis through a program called EAM. I also scan batches weekly, file hard copies and move scanned documents and create files electronically.
During the next year I hope to receive more training in Accounts Receivables and Purchasing along with other areas of Accounting. Thank you, SRMG for allowing me to receive my training here and helping assist me with fulfilling and accomplishing another part of my journey."
